This is her second clash this year after Raksha Bandhan hit the box office with Aamir Khan starrer Laal Singh Chaddha in August. The story of Ram Setu revolves around an archaeologist turned atheist turned believer, Dr. Aryan Kulshrestha (Akshay Kumar), who has to race against time to prove the existence of the legendary Ram Setu before evil forces destroy the pillar of Indian heritage. The actor said that the film is rooted in Indian culture.
